Process that encourages and stimulates
Mentoring is an exciting process that encourages and stimulates professional maturity.

Facing yourself, whether you are a mentor or a mentee, implies openness, need for development, learning, as well as willingness to evolve by developing critical thinking. This relationship provides additional strength, new self-confidence. It adds value and meaning to what you are doing. It helps to determine the goals more precisely, and resolve dilemmas. It affects the clear definition of decisions.

The concept of culture cannot be separated from the concept of public. By creating their own contents, the institutions of culture must take into account the public they are addressing.

The issue of the involvement of young people in cultural life of a community is becoming more and more topical. It results from the social and global issues of public development and inability of various institutional programs to meet the needs, attract new public, and permanently work on education that should inherit the existing cultural systems. The level of concern for young people who have almost no contact with the public institutional culture has increased along with the withdrawal of this target group in terms of any interest in participating in the programs of theatres, galleries, museums, polyvalent cultural centres, etc. Nowadays, the issue at stake is which mechanisms are to be established for solving this problem, what would be some of the basic tools for active involvement of young people in the implementation of institutional, organizational programs…

Openness to ideas and projects of young people, development of a new public, and application of new digital communication platforms in promoting institutional programs are the imperative in positioning for the future. The development and progress of cultural institutions are reflected in the readiness to support youth initiatives by providing opportunities for implementing of their projects and ideas, as well as readiness to transfer our knowledge and experience to young people, including the values of the institution itself. New initiatives and cooperation with young people bring the required topicality to the institution through new artistic practices, pointing to completely new models of communication with the public and potential public. New potentials of the institution are revealed in such cross-generational relationship.

Mentoring is one of the forms of strengthening the institutions, through exchange of knowledge, personal and professional experiences.

Mentoring is the right way to sincerely support your associates. And future associates. Mentoring programs are important because they involve public support for perceptive professionals from different fields.

Mentoring is a need for sharing and giving, the model which is simultaneously a need for personal development, need for lifelong learning, as well as respecting different experiences from practice, perceiving things from a different perspective.

Relationship between mentors and mentees is not one-way. It implies mutual motivation and desire to create a positive attitude towards ourselves, environment, job we are doing, development of the society as a whole through a new kind of relationship. Development of society is not possible without creativity, culture, knowledge, mutual cooperation and exchange of experiences.

The job of managers in culture implies knowledge, skill, perseverance, boldness for innovation, and creativity both in program activity, organization of work, and establishing management models. Theoretical knowledge of management in culture as well as permanent additional education through various programs with exchanging experiences and following the trends in this area, as well as acquiring new knowledge about management and culture are important for success in the management of cultural institutions. Mentoring programs, as a new initiative in the operation of institutions or companies, provide different and better visibility of the institution, indicate the required changes in communication, organization, and influence the better financial results.

My personal new experience in communication related to experience, knowledge and expectations has changed my attitude and approach to daily work and communication with associates. The results of such programs are as good as you are willing to precisely define clear goals in the mutual relationship, and then achieve them. And the real results come after that! Once the mentor-mentee relationship has been established, it will never end.
