Depression does not choose; it is persistent and insidious. Its consequences can be tragic, especially if society does not know how to recognize it and is ready to judge the ones that are affected.
That's why we launched a national campaign to fight depression and the stigma around the patients –
“Unbreakable”. The campaign, initiated by Hemofarm Foundation, in cooperation with the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Belgrade, was launched at the end of April 2021.
More than 18,000 people have asked for help of the experts we have gathered, which is proof that a support network for the patients is necessary.
As part of the “Unbreakable” campaign, an SOS number for the fight against depression 0800 001 002 has been provided, through which all citizens can seek help and receive support. Calls are free and anonymous and help and support are available 24x7. The SOS line is staffed by experts from four Special Hospitals for Psychiatric Diseases in Vršac, Gornja Toponica, Kovin and Novi Kneževac, whose contribution to the campaign is immeasurable. Help can also be requested through the social networks Unbreakable and Hemofarm Foundation.
The campaign, which has been awarded 15 awards so far, was supported by the Ministry of Health, but also by over a million individuals and 657 institutions, companies, associations and organizations.
We are still looking for a systemic solution for the provision of psycho-social assistance. And depression doesn't choose, it breaks everything in front of it. So become part of a support network for people with depression. When we are together, nothing can break us.
