Painting in watercolor taught me patience and balance
When I was a child, my grandfather often drew horses for me, and I watched with fascination. As soon as I learned to hold a pencil, I began drawing my first simple shapes, which later became more complex. As I grew, so did my love for art. Inspired by movies, TV shows, and novels, I drew my favorite characters and filled many sketchbooks and notebooks that I still keep and often look through. I took part in different creative workshops, and my childhood was marked by vivid memories of graphite, colors, and creating.

Years later, I came across a watercolor painting of cherry blossoms. The combination of gentle brushstrokes and perfectly blended colors sparked inspiration in me. That moment encouraged me to fall in love with art in a completely new way.

At first glance, watercolor seems like a simple technique. However, I quickly realized that it is actually one of the most demanding art forms. I spent hours experimenting with water and pigments. Sometimes the paint spread more than it should, sometimes the paper wrinkled, and sometimes the result looked completely different from what I imagined. In watercolor, there is no erasing – everything shows. Every failure was a new lesson, because the essence is not in perfection but in how I choose to accept the situation, adapt to the challenges, and, despite that, find the courage to continue.

Through painting, I gradually developed qualities that are important to me in everyday life. The very technique of working in layers taught me how important patience is. When I work on a painting, I cannot rush the process. I add each layer carefully, and it takes time for the first layer to dry before moving on to the next. Step by step, I realized that a beautiful and complex image is built slowly, with care and belief in yourself.

With the fast pace of everyday life, I am often exposed to stress and constant pressure. Painting, however, gives me the opportunity to pause and reconnect with the present moment. When I pick up a brush, all worries fade, and each stroke becomes my way of finding calm and expressing emotions.

To my colleagues, I would say that any form of art creates space for relaxation, stress relief, and finding balance. Give yourself the freedom to create, you may find your outlet and daily inspiration right there.
