We Don’t Conquer Peaks Alone
Like many good things in Vršac, this story began with a walk up Vršački Breg.

That’s where locals often meet spontaneously, exchange weekend plans, breathe in the nature, and find inspiration. And while Breg might be the favorite local escape, the desire for mountaineering often reaches far beyond.

During one of those walks, the idea of going to the Dolomites was born. Julija had already booked her spot and shared the news with Danijel, who told Svetlana — and the rest is history. From one walk to another, a small crew came together – all colleagues with similar affinities for nature, health, and a good challenge. None of them expected that a spontaneous idea would grow into a full-on mountain adventure.

Done deal

And that’s exactly how it started – driven by shared values and the desire to experience something beautiful together. Interestingly, the whole group works within the STADA Group. Not unusual for Vršac, but essential for this story. The decision wasn’t made at work – it was made on Breg.

Though they come from different departments, they formed a close-knit team determined to test their limits – physical, mental, and collective. Their story isn’t just about kilometers walked, but about mutual support, overcoming personal barriers, and living shared values – at work and on the trail.

Julija Sekulić, Svetlana Braćko Milošević, Alena Pajić, Predrag Milošević, and Danijel Beda joined a hiking tour organized by the Montanaro mountaineering club and set off for the Dolomites, a mountain range in the eastern Italian Alps.

“Peđa handled the driving and logistics, Alena took care of packing and gear, Danijel communicated with the larger group and kept things fun, Julija documented everything with her camera, and I looked after the budget and team spirit,” shared Svetlana Braćko Milošević, Legal & Compliance Business Partner at Hemofarm.

For Danijel Beda, IT Engineer at STADA GIS Serbia and passionate hiker, it was a no-brainer: “Hiking helps me regain balance. After a long day, a walk up Breg clears my mind. So when I heard about the Dolomites – I knew I was in.”

the Dolomite Alps

The Dolomites, recognized as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, feature over 18 peaks rising above 3,000 meters. Famous for their pale grey stone that shimmers in sunlight, they offer breathtaking views and house diverse ecosystems, alpine meadows, lakes, and serene mountain wildlife.

“Steep ascents, rocky terrain, and constant effort pushed my limits. At one point, an old knee injury resurfaced and I started doubting whether I’d make it. But then I remembered why I started – the nature, the silence, the freedom. I realized the real limits aren’t in your body, but in your mind. The team’s encouragement kept me going,”said Predrag Milošević, Senior Specialist for Global IT Vendors & Contract Management at STADA GIS Serbia.

Climb to the lake Lago di Sorapiss

On the toughest parts of the hike, those in better shape helped carry equipment for others or waited when someone needed a slower pace. Those with patience and calm supported teammates struggling with fear of heights, guiding them through difficult passages. Step by step, they tuned in to one another – recognizing when someone needed help, a pause, a smile, or just a few encouraging words.

One of the most awe-inspiring moments was the view from Monte Campadelle (2,362 m), a lookout that rises sharply above the green slopes with a panoramic scene so dramatic it looked drawn by hand.

Another highlight was reaching Lake Sorapiss (1,925 m) and dipping their feet into the icy but refreshing Lake Braies, whose color shifted from turquoise to deep emerald under the mountain sun.

“It was freezing, but worth it. That moment completely grounded me,” said Alena Pajić, Project Manager at the Hemofarm Foundation.

Spending time in nature offered far more than physical challenge. Walking through forests, breathing fresh air, and listening to the sounds of nature had a calming, almost therapeutic effect. In mountain silence, daily stress faded and inner peace became tangible. The mountain became a place of renewal – a way to balance office rhythm with physical wellbeing.

Predrag, Danijel, Julija, Alena and Svetlana

“Hiking reminded us that no peak is too high when you climb together. That’s why we’re already planning our next adventure – in step with a healthy life,”added Julija Sekulić, Internal Senior Supply Network Planner at Hemofarm.

Though they come from different corners of the STADA Group, they are united by shared values and love for the outdoors.

“Our professional paths may differ, but it’s that diversity that gives us strength and helps us learn from each other. This hike showed us that when we put in the effort and support each other, we can overcome any obstacle – on the trail or at work. It’s not about where we come from, but where we’re headed – and we’re moving forward, as one team,”they all say in unison.

Until the next adventure – nature lovers and advocates of healthy living:
