When Work and Passion Play for the Same Team
Football entered my life long before Hemofarm. As a kid, I dreamed of becoming a professional football player – I played seriously, trained hard, and gave it my all. A knee injury ended those dreams, but not my love for the sport. When I joined Hemofarm 19 years ago, I became part of the sports section as a player. I played with colleagues, the legends of our company: Vezmar, Ćela, Trešnjar, Milko, the late Pića… They welcomed me as one of their own, gave me a push forward, and showed me what team spirit really means.

Back then, there were no mobile phones. We trained four to five times a week – once you agreed, you showed up. No changes. You came, gave your best, and left the field a better version of yourself. These were not just matches. They were lessons in discipline, unity, and respect.

I will always remember the victory in 2014 at the Sports Games in Kopaonik – finally taking first place after years of being “the runner-up.” Pića was there with us, and it meant a lot to everyone. We still talk about it whenever we meet.

For the past five years, I haven’t been playing due to my knee surgery. But I didn’t leave – I just changed roles. Today, I am the President of the Futsal Section, responsible for organizing trainings, matches, competitions, and everything that keeps this Hemofarm team together. I enjoy being the support, bringing people together, and giving new colleagues what I once had – a team that pushes you forward.

I see this Section as a club of great people and players. I learned a lot from older colleagues – Srle, Roki, Boki Stanković, Kane, Sloba Ljaljić… These are the people who make you feel part of something bigger.

I’m no longer on the field, but I’m still there – to organize, motivate, and support. I used to be a player, now I handle logistics, but the spirit of the section remains the same – strong, dedicated, and full of support. I also have unwavering support from Dejan Manojlović, who has always been part of the section and a pillar of support in everything.

I believe that anyone who plays, runs, or breaks a sweat with a team at least once a week does it not only for the sport, but for themselves. Because it helps clear the mind, reduce stress, improve sleep, and return to work more focused and satisfied the next day.

Today, we talk a lot about mental health, balance, and stress. But the simplest first step is: get moving. Find your team, your field, your time. And don’t wait for the perfect moment, new equipment, or to be in better shape. None of us is perfect, but everyone can take one small step.

Futsal has been more than a game for me. It has been a space where I learned about myself, about others, and about life. Today, I want to offer that same experience – so that everyone who comes to training knows they belong and that they are part of a team.
