Appreciation Note to Hemofarm Foundation for Taking Part in the National Day of Giving
More than 40 donors, including citizens, companies, NGOs, and civil sector organizations, have managed to raise together 8.2 million dinars within this year’s campaign on the National Day of Giving, under the slogan “School of Good People”. This success was symbolically marked at the donors’ evening, which was organized at the endowment of Ilija Milosavljević Kolarac, one of the greatest philanthropists in Serbian history.
So far, 87 percent out of the planned 9.4 million dinars was raised, and all funds will be used to procure more than 120 innovative teaching aids for more than 10,000 elementary school pupils across Serbia.
Hemofarm Foundation supported the National Day of Giving by donating funds to the B92 Fund's “Battle for Knowledge” project and their initiative “Little Bees”, which aims to procure modern teaching aids to all schools for children with disabilities in Serbia. These are bee-shaped robots that help in a creative way to learn letters, numbers, objects, animals, mathematics, nature, language, or any other area that the teacher may envisage.
The National Giving Day is a part of the USAID-funded Project for improvement of the Framework for Giving, supported by the Philanthropy Council chaired by the Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and implemented by the Coalition for Giving headed by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation. Other members of the Coalition include Trag Foundation, Catalyst Balkans, SMART Collective, the Serbian Philanthropy Forum, the Responsible Business Forum, and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
