Youth Mental Health Discussion and Film Screening 'That’s It For Today'
11. Jun 2024.
The past weekend was marked by the panel session "A Cup of Coffee with a Psychologist" in Kragujevac. Amidst a packed hall at the Student Cultural Center in the city, and in the presence of a diverse audience, we engaged in discussions about the mental health of young people, the pressures and expectations they face on the journey to maturity, and the ways in which society can support them in the process of becoming independent. Participants in the forum included Marina Videnović, a research associate at the Institute of Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade; Marko Đorđević, the screenwriter and director of the film "That’s It For Today"; and Dragan Ilić, a psychologist and journalist. They emphasized that a sign of successful growth and maturity is reflected in our ability to support the youth, demonstrate our belief in them, and encourage them to move forward. Sometimes, all it takes is a hug, as our speakers highlighted.

The importance of hugs and the crucial support of family and community in overcoming various life circumstances is best exemplified in the film "That’s It For Today". Its free screening in Kragujevac was made possible by the Hemofarm Foundation in collaboration with Marko Đorđević, the film's screenwriter and director, Alter Tise agency, MCF Megacom film distribution company, and the "Cineplexx" cinema. The audience rewarded the director, whose film is currently among the most-watched in domestic cinemas, and representatives of the Hemofarm Foundation with applause. Those who had the opportunity to watch "That’s It For Today" say that, if only for a moment, they forgot about the harsh reality surrounding us and were reminded of how beautiful life is and how family serves as a support system capable of dispersing dark clouds with its warmth and encouragement.
