A Cup of Coffee with a Psychologist - The Pandemic of Loneliness
Loneliness is quietly spreading across our society, taking on the proportions of an epidemic. Research indicates that the most affected group is the young, especially young men, even more so than people over the age of 75, who previously headed the list.
We will talk about chronic loneliness, often compared in its general negative effects to smoking 15 cigarettes a day, which people tend to be ashamed of and then further isolate themselves, at the upcoming ‘A Cup of Coffee with a Psychologist’ panel session on
Wednesday, 23 October 2024, starting at 6 p.m. at Dorćol Platz (Dobračina 59b), where we will try to offer an answer to the question: How do we cope with loneliness?
Aleksandar Dimitrijević, a psychoanalyst, and Anja Simonovic, a psychologist and psychotherapist at the Youth Mental Health Center will talk about this topic, which the World Health Organization has rated as a ‘global health threat’. The panel will be moderated by Dragan Ilić, a psychologist and journalist.
