The holidays are approaching, and with them comes the inevitable "pressure" to be in a good mood and have an even better time.
While some are wondering whether we even have a reason to celebrate, others are already making New Year's resolutions, spending their last dinar on clothes, and preparing for a night in which they must have a great time.
The tension we face before the holidays often leads to stress, anxiety, and a constant feeling of dissatisfaction because we fail to meet others' expectations, which are often not aligned with our own values and desires. Studies show that every year, more than 60% of people make New Year's resolutions to lose weight, quit smoking, start exercising, or save money, but nearly 80% of these resolutions are abandoned by January 19th.
At the upcoming "Coffee with a Psychologist" event, which will take place on Wednesday, December 18th, at 6:00 PM at Dorćol Platz, we will discuss how to protect ourselves from the "pressure" we face during the holidays, how to set realistic expectations for ourselves and others, and how to enjoy the New Year without big words and decisions.
