Supporting Youth Is More Important Than Ever
30. Sep 2025.
In a world that is constantly changing, supporting young people represents a long-term investment in both individual and collective futures. It is not just financial aid, and it is not just about internships. It is the feeling that someone sees you and your effort, believes in your potential, and gives you space to develop it. It means having a mentor who asks, “What do you think?” and gives you the confidence that your voice matters.

For 32 years, Hemofarm Foundation has been investing in young people through its educational program You Can Do It. Beyond scholarships, it offers mentorship, internships, empowering experiences, and a network that connects a large number of alumni and mentors. It is an opportunity to grow together and to build a society founded on knowledge, responsibility, and solidarity.

Nearly 4,000 young people have taken part in our educational program. Some of them now lead teams and companies, others educate new generations, care for people’s health, or develop innovative solutions that benefit people and society. All of them took their first professional steps at Hemofarm – where they were given the chance to bridge theory and practice.

For Aleksandar Milenković, a 2024/25 scholarship recipient, it was a chance to gain a new perspective, to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from different angles, and to realize how every segment of production and logistics is crucial for medicines and supplements to reach patients:
“I’m still impressed – I don’t think such a comprehensive program exists anywhere else in the country. What meant the most to me was learning directly from experts and connecting theoretical knowledge with practice. As a future doctor, that’s very valuable, because I realized I can contribute beyond traditional healthcare practice – by understanding the processes, standards, and systems that support patient care. The mentoring part of the program was a special experience for me. I had the pleasure of working with Ksenija Đorđević, Head of the OTC/CHC portfolio at Hemofarm, and her team. From them I gained not only professional knowledge but also confidence, soft skills, and a clearer vision of my future career.”

“When you work with young people, you also learn. Their energy and questions remind us that knowledge must always be shared, that we never stop growing. That’s why mentorship is both a privilege and a responsibility for every professional.” – says Ksenija Đorđević, Aleksandar’s mentor and Head of the OTC/CHC portfolio at Hemofarm.

The development of the mentoring program is important not only for young people who gain new knowledge but also for business itself. Through mentorship, companies transfer experience and values, strengthen the culture of learning and collaboration, and create teams ready to adapt quickly to market changes, says Hemofarm Group CEO, Dr. Ronald Seeliger.

“Investing in young people is not only the duty of a society but also a strategic necessity. The pharmaceutical industry is rapidly evolving, and new generations of experts bring energy, knowledge, and innovations without which progress is impossible. In addition to this program, Hemofarm also runs a Reverse Mentoring program, which allows younger colleagues to take on the role of mentor to their more experienced peers, with the same goal – to strengthen intergenerational collaboration, bring refreshing dynamics, and provide a new perspective on professional development.”

While many young people wonder if their future lies abroad, the Hemofarm Foundation’s educational program offers them the opportunity to build it here. By learning from top experts and working side by side with Hemofarm teams, scholarship recipients acquire experiences and skills that go beyond the classroom – skills needed in business and in life.

“Through the mentoring program, we give young people the chance to unlock their potential – through knowledge, experience, and connections. Young people are the strength we can rely on, and it is important to show them that they have the opportunity to grow and thrive here. If we invest in them today, we invest in a safer and healthier future for all of us,” says Ivana Minović, Education Program Coordinator at the Foundation.

For Ivana, working with scholarship recipients is not just a professional responsibility – it is also a personal mission. As she says, she feels like both a mentor and a mother figure, at once responsible and very proud of all the young people who are part of the program.
