Humanity in Action: Hemofarm Joins the Global Care Day Initiative
09. Dec 2025.
As part of the global Care Day initiative, organized for the third time by the STADA Group, more than 230 Hemofarm employees in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro took part in a voluntary blood donation campaign.

This initiative forms part of the company’s purpose of caring for people’s health and represents an additional act of support for the communities in which STADA operates. Hemofarm employees in Serbia donated blood in Belgrade, Vršac, and Šabac, promoting blood donation as an ultimate act of humanity.

Ronald Zeliger, General Manager of Hemofarm, emphasized that Care Day is yet another demonstration of Hemofarm’s commitment to the community in which it operates.

“We are proud of our employees who, through their actions, show what it means to be responsible and compassionate. Voluntary blood donation is an act that saves lives, and Hemofarm will continue to support these initiatives because they lie at the heart of our mission,” said Zeliger.

Since 2005, Hemofarm’s Voluntary Blood Donor Section, which has around 970 members, has organized more than 180 drives and collected over 8,000 units of blood.

Julijana Tokin, a Hemofarm employee and leader of the voluntary blood donor section in Vršac, was once again among this year’s donors. To date, she has donated blood an impressive 39 times.

“For me, giving blood is a way to help those who need it most. Every unit of blood can save a life, and that is the greatest motivation to keep going,” said Julijana Tokin.

Slobodan Makarić, a Hemofarm associate in Banja Luka, also joined this year’s Care Day initiative. He has donated blood a total of six times, consistently demonstrating his commitment to solidarity and humanity.

“My motivation for donating blood is the desire to help someone and do something meaningful for the community. For me, voluntary blood donation means life,” said Slobodan Makarić.

Employees from more than 20 countries took part in this year’s global Care Day initiative organized by the STADA Group.
