Green at Heart
I've always felt like I was born with a little greenery in my soul. Even as a child, I loved planting things in the yard – sometimes successfully, sometimes less so, but always with great enthusiasm. It was only when I grew up that I realized caring for plants isn’t just a hobby for me – it’s my way of grounding myself, both literally and symbolically.

I remember the first time I dug a hole in the soil and planted something – it felt like all the stress left my body through those roots. That same sense of calm returns every time I water a plant, move a pot, or just peek out onto the terrace. Plants push me to move – physically and mentally – and as I care for them, my thoughts quiet down and time seems to pause. I started building my little “office botanical garden” about ten years ago, with just two plants on the windowsill. Today, I have more than thirty – some I don’t even know the names of. The first reaction when someone walks in is always the same: a smile, followed by “Welcome to the jungle!”

Caring for plants doesn’t take much – just ten minutes a day or one good watering session a week. But what I get in return is priceless: freshness, peace, a break for the eyes, and a daily reminder that growth takes time – along with patience and persistence.

To beginners, I’d suggest starting with an easy plant. Watch how it grows – and how you change with it. All it takes is a bit of light, a bit of care, and some patience. Sometimes, a plant will wither, but even that is a lesson. Just like in life – we learn something new from every mistake.

In the end, taking care of plants becomes a way of taking care of yourself. As you water them, you slowly “fill up” too – with calm, attention, and the kind of quiet that’s becoming harder to find in today’s world. So, if you’re looking for a simple way to make your day better – plant something. You might be surprised – not just by how your space transforms, but by how you yourself become calmer, more patient, and more present.
