'For me, this two-week program was a wonderful and useful experience.'
'The topics have been carefully selected so that they cover all the areas that we study at our home faculties. I saw how much Hemofarm fosters a multidisciplinary approach and integrates engineering, medicine, pharmacy and other related sciences, all for the purpose of preserving and protecting people's health.'
'I learned a lot of new things and improved myself a lot.'
'During my stay in Vršac, I became very close to the other mentees, to the extent that I was sorry to return to Belgrade.'
These are some of the impressions of the scholarship holders after the two-week professional internship program in Vršac and Belgrade, when they had the opportunity to get to know corporate culture and values, gain practical knowledge and experience through lectures and work on state-of-the-art equipment, become familiar with specific processes used in the pharmaceutical industry, develop leadership skills and skills of an interdisciplinary approach in solving problems in practice, become familiar with socially responsible business operations of the company through implementation of the values of #integrity, #agility, #entrepreneurship, #onestada.
The first week of the Internship Program was dedicated to improving knowledge and skills through various lectures held by Hemofarm company experts, while the second week was dedicated to working with mentors with the aim of acquiring knowledge and skills through professional practice, developing leadership skills, teamwork, gaining knowledge about business culture and behavior.
In the first week, the lectures included training on occupational safety and health, regulations in the pharmaceutical industry, the process of validation, business development and licensing, familiarization with the work of the solid dosage and sterile forms plant, chemical laboratory, packaging and storage center. Part of the lectures also related to the procurement process, business compliance, marketing and sales, then familiarization with the company's corporate culture and values, socially responsible business with a focus on pharmaceutical waste management, but also lectures aimed at psycho-social support for young people through education about emotional leadership, stress management and establishing work-life balance.

'We designed the Hemofarm Foundation Program for Education to support young people who are ready to use their knowledge and skills to change the world for the better. The program consists of a scholarship program, a mentorship program and an internship program in Serbia and Germany, it supports the best students of medical, pharmaceutical, technological faculties and technical faculties and of electrical and mechanical engineering and encourages them to apply the acquired knowledge in Serbia. In its 29 years of existence, 3,660 young people have been supported, who make up one of the largest alumni communities, whose mission is to care for people's health and well-being,' Suzana Đorđević, director of the Hemofarm Foundation said, adding that 'she is happy when she meets colleagues from Hemofarm who used to be scholarship holders of the Foundation and who remember that period with joy'.
One of the mentors, leader of automation and HBW maintenance at Hemofarm, Igor Tomašević, says that the program is an exceptional opportunity for the expertise and professional ethics that we value in our company to be passed on to a new generation. 'As a mentor, my goal is to recognize and support the individuality of my mentee, and to give him/her the opportunity to learn outside the framework of textbooks, to grow and advance professionally. It is important to keep an open mind and be supportive of young people. I would like the scholarship holders to follow in my footsteps and get a job at Hemofarm.'
The scholarship holders' impressions are very positive both about the content of the program, the opportunity to learn, acquire practical knowledge and skills, consult and work with the best experts in their field, Hemofarm experts, and also because of the networking that brought them a feeling of regret that the program ended and that they have to to return to their homes.
'I would like to praise the organization of the Hemofarm Foundation for the entire program. It was hard for us, because it was the first time we encountered working days in a company, but we broadened our horizons, prepared ourselves for what awaits us and opened very important doors for ourselves. The maintenance engineers of Solid Dosage Forms Plant have also influenced my positive impressions, including my mentor Vladimir Dojčinov, the PU team leader who unselfishly allocated his time for me. I would definitely single out the floor, energy and high-bay storage as the most complex things I have seen in Hemofarm', Emilija Stankijević from the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad wrote in the Intersnhip Diary.
Nebojša Brezić from the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade said that 'working with a mentor is an excellent supplement to the formal education that we all receive at the university, especially for me who at the university did not come into contact with all those things that I now encounter at Hemofarm. Somehow, medical studies are more oriented towards clinical branches, and doctors are most expected to be the one who will have direct contact with patients, while the possibility of employment in the pharmaceutical industry is hardly discussed at all.'

'The first week of the Internship program 'YOU CAN DO IT' gave me insight into the entire pharmaceutical production process of a generic company, as well as business policy, ways to manage resources, stress and other business aspects. My mentor, Katarina Katančević, from Analytical Development teamed up with the mentors of two scholarship holders, also from the Pharmaceutical Development sector. I must point out that they really tried to explain the work to us', Tatjana Gajdoš from the Faculty of Technology in Novi Sad wrote in her 'Internship Diary'.
Vanja Voskresenski, mentor, manager for qualification and calibration of equipment and processes at Hemofarm, pointed out that it is necessary to support young people because they are the future of work and development of the company and the country. Quoting the poet Jovan Jovanović Zmaj and a part from the poem 'Bright Graves', Vanja told the scholarsjip holders: ‘Where I stopped – you will go! What I couldn’t – you will do!’
