A Cup of Coffee with a Psychologist: Leisure Time an Ally of Mental Health

We often see leisure time as a break from responsibilities, a form of recreation, or simply a moment to relax.

Yet, a growing body of research shows that the way we spend our free time plays an important role in preserving mental health.

Books, music, films, theatre, exhibitions, concerts, and sport are not merely forms of entertainment. They help us reduce stress, regulate emotions, better understand ourselves, and feel a sense of belonging and connection with others.

In a time of daily pressures, fast-paced living, and constant availability, leisure time becomes a space for personal choice, inner balance, and psychological recovery.

Why leisure time is not wasted time, but an important ally of mental health, will be the topic of our discussion at “A Cup of Coffee with a Psychologist” on Monday, June 29, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Dorćol Platz.
